Creating a Synergistic Relationship with Our Communities of Color

11 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Hello, I would like to express my disappointment in the divisiveness of our current police response to people of color and how “to protect and serve” has lost it’s inclusive intention. In order to properly combat the obvious racism in our civil servants behavior, I believe there is a good starting point which involves a synergistic relationship between the police and our communities of color. The request is that you please look into the establishment of a fund from the local police unions intended for bail assistance and legal representation. This fund would be placed under the control of the local NAACP chapter, with no influence from the police union or local government. This could be the first step towards establishing accountability from local police departments and showing a true commitment to solidarity for our abused communities of color who do not have representation.
