An open letter to the U.S. Congress Voting Rights
7 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers! I am writing to urge you to pass HR4, the John Lewis Voting Rights Restoration Act. This bill allows federal oversight of local and state elections, which can help prevent discrimination of voters, strict voter registration requirements, confusion about polling places, and more. These obstacles block people (especially those from marginalized communities such as people of color) from voting and having their voice and concerns heard and addressed. Signing this into law would honor the legacy of this civil rights hero and protect the voting rights he and countless others fought so hard for. Thank you for supporting and voting for this bill in advance! History has its eyes on you.
