On behalf of Field Team 6 and our thousands of members, we require your leadership now. The 2020 elections will occur under pandemic conditions and you must prepare all states equally. You must protect all voters, the volunteers who staff in-person polling places, and the nation itself from election induced Coronavirus super-spreading clusters. We demand: 1. Nationwide online voter registration so we do not lose an entire generation of voters. 2. Nationwide vote-by-mail with hand-marked paper ballots and pre-paid postage. 3. Fully funding the USPS because they are an essential service and crucial for vote-by-mail. 4. Equitable access for historically disenfranchised communities, who are being affected the first and worst by this pandemic. 5. Rejecting voting machines during this pandemic because they are disease vectors. 6. Rejecting Internet voting since it is a well known cyber risk. 7. A secure and transparent chain of custody from voter, tally, reporting and certification. 8. Sufficient time for implementation and processing to put systems in place, train staff, and resolve the unique challenges of processing a surge of mail-in ballots. 9. Wide publicity of election updates so voters are aware of the new election procedures, all deadlines, poll closures, and the increased time vote-processing personnel will require to follow CDC guidelines. 10. At least $2 billion in federal funds to be used to implement the above items. The recent allocation of $400 million does not adequately fund the vote-by-mail policies required to ensure safe, secure, fair, and accessible elections during this pandemic. You must make these demands law and provide federal funding to states now so the changes are made in time to keep our country safe. Our right to vote is the foundation of our democracy.
