An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Please Protect the USPS

39 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

The current Post Master General, Louis DeJoy, took over in May and since then it's been clear his and the President's goal is to dismantle this key public service in favor of making the only options for US residents and citizens private delivery companies. This is unacceptable. Recent memos from within the postal service have completely cut overtime while also not saying anything about hiring more mail carriers. During a year where we have a pandemic and a Presidential election this is terrifying. Without overtime or more workers mail will not be picked up or delivered on time. This would include absentee ballots. Congress needs to protect the USPS, especially this year if we have any hope of flipping the Senate to democrat and voting out the President. Please get loud about this, please pressure your colleagues to get loud about this as well.
