Healthcare For Trans People

82 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers!

I am writing you in strong support of the transgender community and the lgbtq+ community at large. As you know, the transgender community finds itself again under attack by the Trump administration. The Trump administration has removed non-discrimination protections for transgender people in healthcare at a time when accessing medical care is an absolute essential. These policy shifts continue to strip trans and other lgbtq+ people and it is time for our government to act. I am calling on you to protect the transgender community through proposing protections for the lgbtq+ and the trans community specifically at a federal level to prevent further unnecessary deaths during a global pandemic and into the future. We need you to fight back against the Trump administration and propose law which would federally protect lgbtq+ people from discrimination across the board. This definitely breaks my heart. I myself have family and friends who are transgender. Why treat them so differenty? They are human just like us. They want to be happy for being their true selves, why degrade someone for being happy about that? Please stand with the transgender community and people such as Iyanna Dior, Tony McDade, Tyra Hunter, and countless others who have been discriminated against or even killed due to being trans and work to pass protections. Thank you.
