SCOTUS, Obergefell, and Amy Coney Barrett

As a citizen of the United States of America, I am deeply concerned about the comments put out on October 5, 2020 by US Supreme Court justices Clarence Thomas and Samual Alito that express their desire to overturn the Obergefell decision. They claim they want to uphold religious freedom, but their intention is to overrule the religious freedom of those who believe differently than their own particular version of Christianity. Overturning Obergefell would tear apart marriages and families. Years of research shows that marriage equality lowers the suicide rate, especially of young people, which means that overturning Obergefell would also lead to an increase in suicide rates, especially among teens and children. It is a risk to the stability and lives of so many Americans. It is urgent you do everything possible to refuse the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, as it is clear the intention of packing the court with conservatives is to remove freedom and liberty from many citizens for the sake of creating and upholding religious laws to govern our free nation.
