Please co-sponsor HR 7085

I ask that you co-sponsor and support Rep. Justin Amash’s bill HR 7085, the Ending Qualified Immunity Act. Qualified immunity is one small piece of the system that enables police officers to flout the law, abuse their positions of power, unconstitutionally violate civil liberties, and kill Black people — all without being held to account. This Supreme Court-enacted interpretation (Harlow v. Fitzgerald, 1982) of the law (Civil Rights Act of 1871) is senseless, and must be revised through your Congressional action immediately.
