Constituent Support for H.R. 6210/S. 3471

5,974 so far! Let’s get to 10,000 signers!

I write to you to urge you to bring the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (H.R. 6210 & S. 3471) to a vote to ensure that the sale of products in our American markets are not supporting the brutal oppression of Uyghurs in China. Over 1 million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in China have been forced into “reeducation” camps where they face separation from their families, indoctrination, and torture. Furthermore, Chinese government officials use these camps as well as non-incarcerated local Uyghurs as worker bases in forced labor facilities. They are often shipped far from their home as part of the Chinese government’s campaign to destroy their cultural identity. Products made from forced labor have already come to U.S. markets, as a New York Times investigation found that a shipment of face masks to Georgia came from a factory where over 100 Uyghurs workers had been sent. A report by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute found that Uyghur forced labor was likely in the supply chains of “at least 82 well-known global brands in the technology, clothing and automotive sectors, including Apple, BMW, Gap, Huawei, Nike, Samsung, Sony and Volkswagen.” I urge you to contact the bill’s sponsor, Sen. Rubio or Rep. McGovern, to sign on as a co-sponsor to help advance this vital legislation. Not only will you help ensure the integrity of America‘s product supply chain and stand for those facing religious oppression in China, you will also play a role in combatting a genocide. Let’s not wait till after it happens to say never again. Let never again be now. Thank you for your consideration.
