Question about project 2025

How will it affect the k-12 school system?

Answer

It is possible that the platform might work to cut federal loan programs that support families, graduate students, and undocumented students in seeking higher education. As well, this would make it more challenging for historically under-resourced communities to access essential programs. They could also make it easier for charter schools to discriminate against LGBTQ+ students, in this way undoing the progress made during the Biden Administration regarding the collection of accurate demographic data. The goal is to have less government involvement, and more funding for charter schools. As a general rule, the platform looks at public schools with disdain. This could negatively affect the K-12 public school system by making it less accessible and safe for students of all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented communities.
