Question about project 2025
What can be done to stop or slow down its implementation?
Answer
The platform calls for making a number of key changes through executive action, so many of the proposals are not reliant on new legislation. That makes it even harder to fight against the platform's goals because there's no waiting for Congress to get in the way. There are no plans laid out in "Project 2025" for how the proposed changes could be challenged, and those that support the platform are not open about their true agenda. The platform's agenda depends heavily on a willingness to push through proposals that will impact millions of Americans negatively, including children, Black people, disabled people, LGBTQ people, and people of color. If the platform's plans are put into place, there could be mass layoffs, cuts to programs that benefit people living in poverty, the rollback of LGBTQ rights and reproductive healthcare rights, and so much more. The country needs to take these threats very seriously and stop them from being implemented. One of the key parts of the platform would be to ensure that a future administration can bring the courts over to their side so that their extreme, hateful plans can't be challenged, though it does not specifically say that the administration should ignore the law to implement its platform, but it does seem as though the platform creators are not afraid to step outside of the rules.
