Congress must provide legal support to vulnerable children

To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Salazar, Sen. Moody

From: A verified voter in Miami, FL

July 31

I urge you to demand the administration renew the Unaccompanied Children Program contract. The administration is withholding program funds, leaving vulnerable children without legal representation (https://www.ncronline.org/news/catholic-legal-aid-group-immigrants-nears-collapse-us-withholds-funds) in immigration court. Many of these children have fled violence, trafficking, and abuse and the vast majority have no criminal records (https://www.propublica.org/article/unaccompanied-minors-deportations-elder-chavez). Without legal representation, they face deportation (https://www.texastribune.org/2026/07/03/trump-texas-doj-indigent-defense-unaccompanied-immigrant-children/) to the countries they escaped. I want [NAME] to demand that this administration fund and renew the program contract.
