vote NO on the SAVE act

To: Sen. Alsobrooks, Sen. Van Hollen

From: A constituent in Beltsville, MD

April 24

The SAVE act or H.R.22 is an attempt to violate our voting rights. What else can it be called? Attempting to require birth certificates and passports to vote knowing that the majority of Americans don't have a passport is just voter suppression. On top of that, I'm certain that not everyone has easy access to their birth certificate, and replacing either of these things is a massive obstacle to voting. The proponents of this bill are also claiming that non citizen voting is a huge problem which is completely false. Even if this was an issue does it make sense to handle it in a way that would deny millions of their right to vote? Absolutely not. Please take the necessary steps to protect our voting rights by rejecting the SAVE act.
