I’m writing to you because I’m deeply concerned about this government shutdown and how it's hurting businesses, workers, and families like mine. Cutting off SNAP benefits will hurt children and families and also damage our economy at large. But raising health care premiums to sometimes doubled rates by cutting the ACA subsidies and cutting out Medicaid will also hurt us all. Republicans control all of government, but it’s clear they’re more focused on partisan games than on real problems people need solved – like rising healthcare costs. Republicans need to cut the BS and get back to the negotiating table. Please commit to working on a bipartisan compromise to stop rising healthcare costs and end this Trump Shutdown. I’ll be watching how you speak and vote until this shutdown ends!
