Block the Conversion of Public Parkland into an Exclusive Course

To: Sen. Warner, Sen. Kaine, Rep. McClellan

From: A verified voter in North Chesterfield, VA

October 18

Block any plan to convert public parkland into a private or exclusive course. This land belongs to every resident, not just those who can afford a membership or a green fee. Turning shared green space into a gated amenity shuts out the very people parks were built to serve. Public parks are infrastructure. Families, seniors, kids, and neighbors without backyards depend on open, free access to these spaces for recreation and community. Handing that land over to a single-use, fee-based facility is a transfer of public wealth to private benefit, and it sets a dangerous precedent for every park in the area. Vote against this proposal and keep our parks open to everyone.
