This bill now sits before the Senate, where it deserves a fair hearing and vote rather than being buried in the Senate Rules Committee. I urge you to ensure House Bill 488 receives a full Senate vote. The people of Maryland deserve to have their elected representatives go on record regarding this consequential redistricting measure. Assigning this bill to the Senate Rules Committee, which holds no hearings, does not meet regularly, and has no staff, circumvents the democratic process and denies constituents the transparency they expect from their government.
