NO to Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Graham
From: A verified voter in Greenville, SC
September 21
I am writing in strong opposition to the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
This is a prime example of meaningless laws (voting while not a citizen is already a felony) that add meaningless red tape while taking constitutional power away from the States. It will do nothing but provide an opportunity for extremists—both socialist and fascist—to sow fear and doubt about our elections.
If that is not enough reason to vote down the bill, I will note that the requirements for verification include a birth certificate that matches the citizen’s current ID. I will remind you, an esteemed member of the Republican Party, that those requirements are more likely to exclude the wives in nuclear families your party relies on while including the “childless cat ladies” your Vice Presidential candidate enjoys dismissing.
Please show the maturity that your House colleagues did not show and vote down the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
