The United Kingdom and other European allies are now warning their citizens about the dangers of traveling to the United States. Why? Because the Trump administration’s extreme immigration policies have led to foreign tourists being detained for weeks at U.S. borders under cruel and unjust conditions. This is an outrage. What is your office doing to stop this? How will you ensure that U.S. border officials are held accountable for these inhumane practices? America’s reputation is in free fall because of these policies, and every day they continue, we lose credibility on the world stage. I demand to know: 1. Will you take action to stop these arbitrary detentions of foreign travelers? 2. Will you push for an investigation into the abuses by Customs and Border Protection (CBP)? 3. Will you work to end Trump’s authoritarian immigration policies before they do lasting damage to our country? The time for vague statements and political hedging is over. These abuses must stop now. I expect a direct response outlining exactly what you will do to address this crisis.
