Support US Engagement and Partnership With Africa

To: Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee, Rep. Maloy

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

September 5

Stop blocking meaningful US engagement with Africa. The United States has a real opportunity to build lasting, equitable partnerships across the African continent, and I want you to actively oppose any efforts in Congress to obstruct or defund those initiatives. Africa is home to over 1.4 billion people, the world's fastest-growing economies, and some of the most critical strategic partnerships of the coming century. When the US steps back, others step in. Undermining our commitment to African nations doesn't protect American interests — it abandons them. I want you on record supporting robust US-Africa engagement, whether that means protecting foreign assistance programs, backing trade and investment frameworks, or opposing resolutions that signal disrespect toward African governments and peoples. This is a moment to lead, not obstruct.
