An Open Letter
To: Rep. Ciscomani
From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ
July 2
I’m writing to urge you to do the right thing by your constituents and vote No on HR 1. For once in your political career put your money where your mouth is when you talk about being a family man. This budget will negatively impact your constituents families and cost many of their lives. We will not forget or forgive your dishonor if you vote to remove essential supports from hard working families.
I will not forget and your name will be on my lips when cuts to Medicaid cost the life of my father who has liver disease and has only been able to receive the care he needs thanks to his Medicaid coverage. When the choice will be to bankrupt our family or watch him suffer and die from liver disease that is not from alcohol but rather life long pain management after a spinal injury in a car accident nearly cost him his life when he was a young father. Your name will be on my lips when they’re cuts to K 12 education in Arizona my job, which is the primary income source for my family as an educator is at risk. Your name will be on my lips when my autistic child does not have the services he needs.
If you vote, yes on this bill, you will be held accountable. We will not forget, we will not forgive. In your correspondence that I’ve gotten from previous letters you mention how you are committed to Arizona families you talk about your daughters. I ask you to think about people like my father and my son before you vote on this budget. And to vote no.
