The Voter Fraud Myth Has Been Debunked, Why Are We Still Voting on the SAVE Act?
To: Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley
From: A verified voter in Des Moines, IA
February 26
I am urging you to vote NO on the SAVE Act — a bill built entirely on a lie.
For years, Americans have been told that our elections are riddled with fraud, that non-citizens are flooding the polls, and that our democracy is being stolen from within. It is a frightening story. It is also a false one — and it has been proven false, repeatedly, by Republicans and Democrats alike.
Republican-led investigations, nonpartisan election experts, federal courts, and even the Department of Homeland Security have all reached the same conclusion — widespread voter fraud in American elections does not exist. Study after study, audit after audit, lawsuit after lawsuit has failed to produce credible evidence of the massive fraud this bill claims to solve. In fact, the Heritage Foundation — one of the most conservative think tanks in America — has spent years compiling every credible case of voter fraud it could find, and the numbers remain vanishingly small compared to the hundreds of millions of votes cast in American elections.
The SAVE Act is not a solution to a real problem. It is a solution to an invented one — and the cost of that invention will be paid by millions of real, eligible American voters who will be turned away from the polls because of paperwork they cannot easily obtain.
When legislation is built on a foundation of misinformation, it does not protect democracy — it weaponizes it. It takes a manufactured fear and uses it to justify very real suppression of very real voters.
Senator, your constituents deserve honest governance based on facts, not fear. Do not reward misinformation with legislation. Do not punish millions of innocent voters for a problem that does not exist.
Vote NO on the SAVE Act. Stand with the truth. Stand with the voters.
