House Bill 486 is a step away from democracy in Ohio

To: Gov. DeWine, Sen. Weinstein, Rep. Sims

From: A constituent in Akron, OH

March 30

ant within their own home. House Bill 486 is an opportunity to allow Christian Nationalism into our school systems, and interferes with parents' rights to teach religion how they w was directly related to this country's idea that Christianity is inherently good and that is exactly what this bill insinuates. This bill also undermines the rights of Native American citizens, whose right to practice their religion wasn't legal until 1978. The abuse they endured As someone who is not religious but still stood for the pledge everyday for 12 years and recited the words "one nation under god" despite those words not aligning with my own beliefs and what I was taught at home, I believe House Bill 486 will only alienate students who are not Christian, and make it hard er for them to receive their education.
