Turn Off Flock Surveillance Cameras

To: Mayor Johnston

From: A constituent in Denver, CO

February 4

I demand that Denver immediately deactivate all Flock Safety automatic license plate reader cameras. City Council voted 12-0 to reject the Flock contract renewal. You bypassed this unanimous decision by signing a $498,509 contract structured to fall just under the $500,000 council approval threshold. Audit logs obtained through CORA requests revealed that Denver's Flock data was searched over 1,400 times by ICE since June 2024, despite repeated assurances that no data was shared with immigration enforcement. Respect the council's vote, turn off the cameras, and support a surveillance oversight ordinance requiring council approval before any surveillance technology is acquired or deployed.
