Vote No on AB 727

To: Sen. McNerney, Asm. Bauer-Kahan

From: A constituent in Dublin, CA

March 7

I am writing to express my opposition to AB 727, which mandates that all K-12 schools and universities in California, including private and religious institutions, print the Trevor Project’s contact information on every student ID. While I support efforts to promote student safety, I am concerned that this bill does not provide exemptions for religious schools or allow individual opt-outs, potentially infringing on institutional autonomy and parental rights. I believe this mandate oversteps by requiring all students and schools to promote a specific advocacy organization, regardless of their beliefs or preferences. I respectfully urge you to withdraw AB 727 to address these concerns and ensure a more balanced approach.
