Demand transparency, oversight for USDS's access to personal data

Given the concerning reports about the United States DOGE Service (USDS) potentially gaining unrestricted access to highly sensitive government data systems containing personal information of millions of Americans, there is an urgent need for transparency and oversight. The USDS is not an official government agency subject to normal checks and balances, yet it appears to be gaining sweeping access to federal records and databases without clearly defined limitations or safeguards to protect privacy. It is troubling that an unelected private entity led by Elon Musk may be analyzing Americans' personal data, such as financial records, student loan information, medical data, and employment files using artificial intelligence without public scrutiny or accountability. This raises serious civil liberties concerns around privacy, due process, and the potential for misuse of sensitive personal data. Congress must assert its authority and launch investigations into the scope of USDS data access, the use of AI analytics on this data, and what measures are in place to protect individual privacy rights. The public deserves full transparency around any program that could enable unrestrained surveillance or exploitation of their personal information by private entities outside the democratic process. Swift action is needed to rein in potential abuses and uphold constitutional protections.
