As your constituent, I'm writing to ask that you stand firm on the government shutdown. Americans are hurting during the shutdown. That's just a fact. And it's painful. But things will be worse if you capitulate to the GOP now. If we give in now, we'll never get the ACA back. We'll instead be at the mercy of new and different Republican temper tantrums that hurt Americans whenever they want something awful. Trump has seen that the shutdown is hurting Republicans. They're on the defensive and losing support. Now isn't the time to cave. Now is the time to stand firm until you save the ACA without sacrificing anybody's access to care, dignity, education, food, and shelter. Please don't give MAGA an inch.
