Stop the lies. Vote NO on DHS funding.
To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis
From: A constituent in Springville, UT
January 28
"A great need today is for leadership that exemplifies truth, honesty, and decency"--David B. Haight. Elder Haight went on to say, "Honesty isn't the best policy, it is the ONLY policy." There's a reason why your bishop and stake president ask you if you strive to be honest in all that you do. Being honest matters. Taking responsibility matters. Truth matters. But it appears that this administration, especially the leadership of Homeland Security does not value honesty. We are being told lie after lie about ICE's activities in Minnesota and beyond. It is time for the gaslighting, fact twisting, and blatant untruth to end. While I appreciate the calls for investigating the circumstances around Alex Pretti's death, action cannot stop there. I urge you to vote NO on any bill funding DHS until ICE can be restructured and leadership--especially Krist Noem--can be held responsible. The lies must end. As David B. Haight taught, "No man can disobey the word of God and not suffer for so doing... we run the risk of losing both our domestic freedom and eternal salvation if we circumvent by the ethical and moral strictures inherent in the Constituti on of this land and the gospel of Jesus Christ." As your constituent, I am watching your actions closely. Will you perpetuate the lies, or will you take action?
