Take action against the Bondi-led DOJ

To: Rep. Kean, Sen. Kim, Sen. Booker

February 16

Impeachment is an extraordinary constitutional measure reserved for credible concerns about abuse of power, misconduct, or failure to faithfully execute the duties of office. Based on publicly reported facts and documented controversies, there are grounds that merit the congressional review of Attorney General Pam Bondi. First, recent congressional testimony and document-handling controversies related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation have raised concerns about transparency and accountability within the United States Department of Justice. Bondi improperly redacted names tied to Epstein associates in released documents while including the names of victims. Second, while qualifying ANTIFA as terrorism, she willingly approved the hiring of a pardoned January 6 rioter as a senior adviser to the DOJ. Third, a formal ethics complaint alleges that DOJ attorneys were pressured to pursue political objectives or face discipline, though such allegations would require investigation and verification through proper legal processes. Fourth, structural and operational decisions under her tenure have yielded policy shifts like ending or scaling back certain enforcement and investigative initiatives. Taken together, these issues do not by themselves constitute proof of impeachable conduct. However, they establish a pattern of credible allegations, operational failures, and public controversy surrounding the Attorney General’s execution of duties. The constitutional impeachment process exists precisely to investigate such patterns where public trust, rule of law, or separation of powers may be at risk. Impeachment proceedings would allow Congress to: • Subpoena documents and testimony under oath • Evaluate whether misconduct, negligence, or abuse of authority occurred • Provide transparency and accountability to the American public Regardless of ultimate outcome, initiating a formal inquiry would reinforce constitutional oversight of executive power and ensure public confidence in the justice system. For these reasons, I respectfully urge lawmakers to consider opening an impeachment inquiry into Attorney General Pam Bondi.
