Don’t sell our public lands!

To: Sen. Ernst, Sen. Grassley

From: A constituent in Iowa City, IA

June 20

I’m writing to ask you to oppose the land sale provision in the One Beautiful Bill Act. This proposal would force the sale of up to 3.3 million acres of public land across the U.S.—land that belongs to all Americans. These public lands support recreation, wildlife, clean water, and local economies. Selling them off risks losing public access forever and could lead to private development in fragile areas. While the bill claims to support affordable housing, selling remote or wild land isn’t a real solution. Public lands belong to all of us and they need to be preserved for future generations.
