Reject partisan Kash Patel as unfit FBI Director

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody

From: A constituent in Saint Augustine, FL

February 14, 2025

The Senate should reject the nomination of Kash Patel as FBI Director. Patel has made a career out of attacking and undermining the FBI, accusing dedicated law enforcement professionals of being "government gangsters." He has shown open disdain for the bureau's work and seems intent on "massive reform" that could compromise its independence and integrity. The FBI requires a director committed to upholding the rule of law without partisan bias or agenda. Patel's overt loyalty to Donald Trump and apparent involvement in dismissing agents over political differences raises serious concerns about his ability to lead the nation's premier law enforcement agency in an objective and non-partisan manner. Confirming someone so overtly hostile to the FBI itself would severely damage public faith in an institution that must remain above partisan rancor to function effectively. I urge you to vote against this deeply unsuitable nomination in the interests of preserving the FBI's critical law enforcement mission.
