A 52-year-old man named Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot dead by an ICE officer this week. ICE claimed it was in self-defense, but this account deserves serious skepticism. The added fact that federal law enforcement will not allow local investigators to participate or see evidence, further implies that something is wrong with this situation. A full and accurate account of what happened is vital. The other passengers in the van are being pressured to self-deport before being able to tell their observations. Again, highly suspect. Please demand that local investigators are allowed to participate in the full investigation and monitor this to ensure that justice is served.
