Several House Democrats are pushing to impeach Education Secretary Linda McMahon, accusing the Trump administration official of illegally dismantling parts of the Department of Education and transferring programs to other federal agencies without congressional approval. The effort is among the most aggressive responses by congressional Democrats to President Donald Trump's education agenda, which has focused on reducing the federal government's role and shrinking the Education Department. McMahon, the former WWE executive confirmed as education secretary during Trump's second term, has been a central figure in carrying out those plans. “Secretary McMahon has said it's her mission to shut down the Department of Education. She does not have the legal right to do that," Bonamici told Newsweek in a statement. "All students deserve an education that will meet their needs and give them the opportunity for a better future. I'm not going to stand by and let her break the law and undermine the rights of students.” You are my representation in Congress and I want to see you work across the aisle and sign on to this impeachment. SC places extremely low on education when compared to the other states. We should be building more support and funding for our public schools, not funneling money away from public schools into voucher programs, and most certainly not dismantling the system from within!
