Reject SAVE Act, protect voter rights and secure elections

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody, Rep. Frankel

From: A verified voter in Boynton Beach, FL

April 25

This proposed legislation, the SAVE Act, would create significant barriers to voter registration by requiring documentary proof of U.S. citizenship. While protecting election integrity is important, the burdensome requirements risk suppressing eligible voters and denying the fundamental right to vote. There are serious concerns that these new hurdles would disproportionately impact marginalized communities, including the elderly, minorities, and those with disabilities who may face challenges obtaining the mandated documents. Such measures could ultimately undermine faith in the electoral process. I urge you to reject this bill and instead pursue balanced policies that safeguard access to the ballot box while maintaining secure elections. Voter participation strengthens our democracy, and we must vigilantly protect this essential right for all eligible citizens.
