An Open Letter

To: Rep. Schweikert, Sen. Kelly, Sen. Sinema

From: A constituent in Scottsdale, AZ

November 18, 2024

The "advice and consent" clause is in the Constitution for a reason. Recess appointments are a relic of the past, when the fastest way to travel was by horse! It must not be used to circumvent the important role the Senate plays in our Republic, where divided government and power sharing are key to its success. All of Trump's nominees should be vetted by the Senate. We are a Republic and not an Autocracy!
