My name is Aaron Workman and I live in Webb city of Jasper county Missouri. I am writing because I recently became aware of something that is legal yet so incredibly offensive to the citizens of Missouri.
Someone within close proximity to Webb city and Carterville, Missouri is either bought or leased the land and applied for what is known by the Missouri DNR as a land application permit.
What this allows them to do is take raw, untreated human waste from septic systems and porta potties and then spray up to 1 inch of it all over their land every single day right up to within 100 feet of their neighbors land.
This is done, not out of need for inexpensive fertilizer, but to save the money companies would have to pay to drop this off at a proper and available wastewater treatment facility.
The stench is sickening and makes leaving your house, opening windows or enjoying outdoor activities nearly impossible when downwind.
I ask you, would you want this near you or think in the year 2024 that it is still acceptable to spray the earth with excrement to save a buck? I and the citizens that have to live near these abominations beg you to draft legislation to close this loophole. Thank you for your service.
