I am writing in opposition to NC Bill 1232. Although the bill claims to be based on "scientific fact," its claims are contrary to scientific and medical evidence. This bill is barbaric, and enacting it will have the opposite of the intended effect it claims. People, mostly women, will die. Medical professionals who have spent years learning these procedures, taken an oath to do no harm, and are familiar with their patients' needs, are trustworthy, capable, and qualified -- much more than a power-hungry group of elected officials with no medical background or expertise who seek to punish and kill women. I am appalled and ashamed to live in a state whose representatives actively seek to destroy the lives of its constituents. Vote no or veto it.
