I am writing to urge you to fully fund Colorado’s public education system and invest in our teachers. As a concerned citizen, I see firsthand the challenges our schools face due to chronic underfunding. Our students deserve better, and our teachers deserve fair compensation for their essential work. Colorado ranks among the lowest in the nation in per-student funding, leaving schools struggling to provide the resources necessary for quality education. Teachers are overburdened, underpaid, and leaving the profession at alarming rates. Without meaningful investment, our students and communities will continue to suffer the consequences of an underfunded system. Fully funding public education means: - Increasing teacher salaries to attract and retain top talent. - Providing students with up-to-date learning materials, technology, and safe facilities. - Reducing class sizes so students receive the attention they need. - Expanding mental health resources and support services in schools. Every child in Colorado deserves access to a well-funded public education that sets them up for future success. I urge you to prioritize education funding in the upcoming budget and ensure that our schools and educators have the resources they need to thrive. Our children are our future, and investing in them is the best investment we can make for the long-term prosperity of our state.
