The Archives' role as impartial keeper of the nation's history is crucial, and appointing a political loyalist risks selectively rewriting or omitting parts of the historical record. Protecting the nonpartisan nature of this institution is vital to accurately documenting our government's actions for future generations without undue influence or partisan motives. Do not allow the potential politicization of the National Archives to happen under your watch as it would undermine public trust and enable revisionist history.
