Extend the Section 781 hemp deadline in the CR

To: Sen. Tillis, Sen. Budd, Rep. Edwards

From: A constituent in Canton, NC

July 26

Please ensure the upcoming Continuing Resolution includes a two-year extension of the Section 781 hemp implementation date, from November 12, 2026 to November 12, 2028. Without this extension, an estimated 95 percent of today’s lawful hemp products become unlawful on November 12, cutting off millions of Americans, including veterans and seniors, from products they rely on and disrupting farmers, retailers, and small businesses in our state. The White House has asked Congress, at minimum, for an extension while bipartisan work on a permanent framework is completed. Please make sure the extension is in the CR.
