The IGO Anti-Boycott Act should not be passed. It criminalizes political expression by prohibiting boycotts of countries or international organizations, even when conducted as a form of non-violent protest against human rights abuses. Support for Palestinian rights through boycotts does not constitute antisemitism. This legislation threatens to suppress lawful dissent and curtail free speech by restricting the ability to criticize unethical policies or practices through boycott campaigns. Advancing this bill risks undermining legitimate advocacy efforts.
