Defend the Constitution

To: Justices Court

From: A constituent in Topeka, KS

March 14

This executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship is a misguided and unconstitutional attempt to undermine a core constitutional principle enshrined in the 14th Amendment. For over 150 years, the Supreme Court has consistently affirmed that the citizenship clause guarantees citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil, regardless of their parents' immigration status. Overturning this well-established precedent would not only contradict our nation's history and values but would render millions of Americans stateless, creating profound legal and humanitarian crises. The courts have rightly rejected this radical theory, describing it as "blatantly unconstitutional" and contrary to over two centuries of precedent. I urge you to defend the 14th Amendment's guarantee of birthright citizenship and reject this unconstitutional executive overreach that would cause immense harm and uncertainty for millions of U.S. citizens.
