Demand Waltz & Hegseth Step Down Immediately

To: Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

March 24, 2025

I am writing to express my profound disappointment in this administration- particularly in light of Pete Hegseth’s recent egregious lapse in judgment Re: military operations against the Houthi. His decision to include a journalist from The Atlantic in a Signal chat used for military discussions is not only reckless but also a glaring demonstration of poor judgment. Additionally, every single member of the administration that also failed to notice an additional individual added to the chat, should also shoulder their fair share of the blame. Equally concerning is the fact that this administration appears to be conducting sensitive conversations about war plans over an app like Signal. The notion that classified or highly sensitive information is being handled in such a casual and insecure manner is appalling. Every misstep, every careless decision, puts our brave soldiers and military contractors at unnecessary risk. Not demanding accountability for individuals who demonstrate such a lack of discretion undermines confidence in our national defense leadership. I urge you to demand greater accountability from those entrusted with safeguarding our nation. Our service members deserve leaders who prioritize their safety and the integrity of our military operations. I hope you will take this matter seriously and act in the best interests of our country and its defenders. You should demand Waltz & Hegseth step down immediately. One of you was my senator in 2016… “but her emails….”. Let’s bring some seriousness back to our country and leadership. We are a danger to ourselves and others, & you both know it.
