Princeton, NJ — Climate Revolution Action Network (CRAN) today announced its endorsement of Adam Hamawy for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District. A trauma surgeon, Army veteran, and climate disaster first responder, Hamawy has spent his life responding to people in moments of crisis and witnessing what happens when government fails to invest in the wellbeing of its people. His candidacy comes as residents across the 12th District face rising healthcare costs, worsening affordability, and growing climate threats, including repeated flooding that has devastated communities throughout the district and taken lives in Plainfield. As storms that were once considered once in a lifetime events become increasingly common, families are being left to shoulder the cost of infrastructure failures and climate damage. Hamawy is running on a platform centered on Medicare for All, Making Polluters Pay for climate damages and resilience investments, abolishing ICE, and redirecting federal spending away from endless war and toward domestic needs like healthcare, affordable education, infrastructure, and transportation. He has also pledged to reject all contributions from fossil fuel PACs, AI related PACs, AIPAC and related Israeli PACs, underscoring his commitment to independent leadership free from the influence of industries profiting off environmental destruction, surveillance driven AI expansion, and endless war. “Young people are being told there is no money for healthcare, resilient infrastructure, or affordable communities while working families are left paying the price for political cowardice and corporate influence,” said Ben Dziobek, Executive Director of Climate Revolution Action Network. “Adam understands that if we want a future people can actually afford to live in, we need to stop subsidizing war, stop protecting corporate polluters, and start investing in the needs of our communities.” “As a climate disaster first responder, I have seen all over the world how the climate crisis impacts our most vulnerable communities first and worst. We need to make polluters pay for the damages they have caused and invest in making our communities more resilient. CRAN is mobilizing young people across our state to win real climate solutions for our neighbors and I am proud to have earned their support,” said Adam Hamawy, NJ-12 Congressional Candidate.
