Your Constituents Are Hungry. Pass the Keep SNAP Funded Act.

To: Sen. Kaine, Sen. Warner

From: A verified voter in Petersburg, VA

October 29

The shutdown is already pushing families to the brink. SNAP recipients — including veterans, children, and seniors — are days away from losing the only consistent food support they have. Senator Josh Hawley’s Keep SNAP Funded Act shouldn’t be a partisan issue. Feeding hungry Americans is basic governance. Your constituents are not abstractions — they’re parents skipping meals so their kids can eat, veterans relying on benefits they earned, and workers whose paychecks no longer cover groceries. This bill has bipartisan momentum. Eleven senators, including ten Republicans, are standing up to keep food on people’s tables. I’m urging you to do the same. Sign on to support or co-sponsor this legislation now. There’s no moral high ground in letting hunger grow while you wait for a broader deal. Fund SNAP immediately — and show us that compassion and common sense still have a place in the Senate.
