Oppose SB593

To: Sen. Mann, Rep. Pogemiller

From: A verified voter in Oklahoma City, OK

February 6

I am concerned about Deever’s proposed bill, SB593. I understand that he and others may have some sort of reactionary response to the jump in romance novel sales or what have you, but I do not understand how the legislature can expect to police all 4 million Oklahoma citizens and their homes, computers, and phones. I am an adult, and I do not need anyone telling me what I can or cannot access because of some ill-informed idea of what is or isn’t adult content. Please oppose this bill and ensure it does not reach the floor. I feel this is a test run for a wider national ban, and I feel that it is an embarrassment to Oklahoma for someone in elected office to focus on such a niche topic and not on the millions of people suffering in this state.
