Grave Concerns Regarding the Court's Ruling in Trump v. CASA, Inc.
To: Justices Court
From: A constituent in Petaluma, CA
July 2
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and grave concern regarding the Court's recent ruling on universal injunctions in Trump v. CASA, Inc. This decision, delivered on Friday, June 27, 2025, has left me deeply disgusted by what I perceive as a severe abetting of individuals, particularly powerful figures, who engage in actions I believe to be illegal and contrary to the fundamental values of our nation.
The ability of lower courts to issue universal injunctions served as a crucial and necessary check on executive power, ensuring that potentially unlawful or unconstitutional policies could be halted nationwide. By significantly limiting this vital tool, the Supreme Court has, in my view, actively undermined the judiciary's capacity to uphold the rule of law and ensure accountability for all, regardless of their position or influence.
This ruling appears to demonstrate a disturbing lack of allegiance to the core values of America and to the American people. It creates a dangerous environment where executive actions, even those facing significant legal challenges, can continue to be implemented and inflict harm across the country. This not only burdens those seeking redress but also risks creating a confusing and unequal application of the law.
I believe that the Court, in this decision, has failed in its solemn duty to serve as the ultimate guardian of our Constitution and the protector of our democratic institutions. The perception that powerful individuals are being shielded from immediate and comprehensive judicial oversight is deeply corrosive to public trust and the very principle that no one is above the law. I urge you to reflect on the detrimental consequences of this ruling.
