Oppose the Big Beautiful Bill It Hurts Rural America and The Economy’s Future

To: Rep. Wied

From: A verified voter in Sturgeon Bay, WI

July 1

Congressman Iam writing to urge you not to support the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” currently being debated in Congress. While its name may be appealing, the reality is that this legislation would have devastating effects—not just for the residents of Door County and other parts of rural Wisconsin, but for working people across the country. As someone who represents a rural district, you know firsthand how vulnerable these communities can be to top-down economic policies that ignore their specific needs. This bill threatens to strip vital resources from rural hospitals and public schools across America as well as undermine essential infrastructure projects. It offers tax breaks and benefits to the wealthiest Americans while leaving everyday families in your district and beyond to shoulder the burden. Furthermore, this bill poses a serious threat to our national economy. By prioritizing short-term political wins over long-term economic stability, it risks deepening inequality, destabilizing local economies, and driving up deficits in ways that will harm future generations. Congressman, your constituents elected you to fight for them—not for special interests or powerful donors. Please stand up for the people of Door County and rural America by opposing the Big Beautiful Bill.
