Autistic persons are not a problem

To: Rep. Wilson, Sen. Graham, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in Columbia, SC

April 17

I’m appalled by Robert Kennedy, Jr.’s remarks about persons with autism, saying in short, the are worthless. He continues to misinform the public on various issues related to health. But today he marginalized and dehumanized an entire people. Persons with autism vary and their differences are not a disease, bad or make them unworthy. To have an appointed official at this level say the lies at a podium is unkind, untruthful, unAmerican and despicable. Your own beloved Elon Musk is on the Autism Spectrum yet you glorify him. The American people are starting to wonder if we are at the very beginning of a movement to remove Americans that this administration deems unfavorable: - Deport people, even Americans without charges. Persons of non-white backgrounds. - Take away the vote of women with the SAVE Act. - Erase the contributions of underrepresented Americans by falsely making DEI a villain. - Hurt older Americans by moving SSA information to a social media platform, X, created and run by a White House staff member. - Injure public servants by recklessly firing them without cause. - Elevate Christian Nationalism. You are destroying this country as a representative of my state. STOP. Stand up to the tyranny you know is happening and that you support.
