Reject Arizona's discriminatory "Pronoun Bill" SB1166

To: Rep. Mathis, Rep. Gutierrez

Stop LGBTQ+ Student Suppression Bill SB1166 The so-called "Pronoun Bill" SB1166 is a harmful and discriminatory piece of legislation that will create a hostile environment for LGBTQ+ students in Arizona schools. It prohibits schools from using gender-neutral pronouns and requires students to be referred to only by the names and pronouns corresponding to their biological sex assigned at birth, regardless of their gender identity or expression. This policy of forced misgendering and deadnaming is psychologically damaging and denies the very existence of transgender and non-binary youth. Furthermore, it requires schools to notify parents if a minor student expresses a different gender identity, effectively outing them against their will and potentially subjecting them to abuse or homelessness. I vehemently oppose this cruel bill that targets vulnerable students and makes schools unsafe spaces. Please vote against SB1166 and protect Arizona's LGBTQ+ youth.
