You’re Better Than This
To: Rep. Webster
From: A verified voter in Orlando, FL
November 4
I am writing in response to your 11/3/25 Webster Wire; I expect an actual answer since your sessions keep getting canceled. In it, you reference that the USDA will make partial November payments for SNAP. Do you not consider it misleading to completely gloss over the fact that two federal judges had to rule that withholding these contingency-prepared payments as unlawful? Would it not be pro-life for you to call on the administration to take Judge Talwani’s recommendation that customs revenues be tapped to provide the remaining needed funds? You previously advised that the administration said it was unable to legally provide these payments; where is your correction now that it has been ruled to indeed be legal?
Also in your Webster Wire, you call the shutdown “the Democrats’ government shutdown.” Have you checked in with your constituents who rely on ACA marketplace health insurance policies to see what their 2026 monthly premiums are expected to be? Have you pressed the Speaker of the House to allow the House to return to session to negotiate and help bring an end to the shutdown? I’ve said it before: if your bill can’t pass the Senate, you didn’t do your job. This is not a good look for you, and it detracts from your claims of strong ethics and strong character to so adamantly refuse to be reasonable. This is a representative democratic republic we live in, and I expect my representatives to *represent* me; you can’t represent me if you’re on a week-long paid vacation.
