First, I'm writing to ask representative Kean to prevent the defunding of the Department of Labor's Job Corps program and push the department to continue processing current applications. Job Corps provides essential job training to help vulnerable young people thrive. [H/T (https://substack.com/redirect/9c280095-9910-4e37-9bbe-d649462bb6fa?j=eyJ1IjoiNm1seXYifQ.otOmJiKbuVjJchpYlNRHfEdUeScpGrrwie9zwfsSQuI)] Also, I just read that the Department of Health and Human Services is canceling (https://substack.com/redirect/8c1c7bf6-55d2-4019-9c50-a09230b560af?j=eyJ1IjoiNm1seXYifQ.otOmJiKbuVjJchpYlNRHfEdUeScpGrrwie9zwfsSQuI) a nearly $600 million contract with Moderna to develop vaccines for flu subtypes that could trigger future pandemics, including the bird flu. Why the hell would we do this? It’s bad enough that the HHS is attacking the COVID vaccine, but now it’s going after ALL flu vaccines? Including bird flu? It’s stupid and destructive to undermine public health in this way. I want HHS to stop attacking Covid vaccines and reinstate the funding for Moderna’s flu vaccines. Have no doubt we are headed for pandemic #2 and handing out checks so the economy stays viable for the stock market. Oh, and a lot of death. DO SOMETHING. Thanks.
